Privacy Policy

AYNI (عيني) is an AI dashcam and driving awareness app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app can access, where your data lives, and the choices you have.
The short version: AYNI is designed to minimize data collection. Most core processing happens on-device — detection runs on your iPhone, and your recordings stay on your iPhone unless you choose to export or share them.
Camera
AYNI uses your iPhone's camera for the live road view, for on-device detection, and for incident recording. Camera frames are analyzed in real time on your device. AYNI does not send your camera feed to AYNI servers.
On-device AI processing
AI processing in AYNI is intended to happen on-device, using Apple's Neural Engine. Detections — such as vehicles, pedestrians, traffic lights and stop signs — are computed locally as you drive, not in the cloud.
Location and speed
With your permission, AYNI uses location for GPS speed and heading, 3D Maps, road context, directions and local weather, and to attach GPS metadata to incident clips. Recording metadata stays on your device unless you export or share it. Online map, search, directions and weather features send the requests described below to their providers. You can revoke location access in iOS Settings; location-dependent features will then be limited.
Microphone
The microphone is used for optional incident audio recording and, when enabled, Emergency Mode voice confirmation. On supported devices, voice confirmation uses on-device speech recognition. Disabling incident audio does not itself disable optional voice confirmation. You can control these features in the app and revoke Microphone or Speech Recognition access in iOS Settings.
Maps, directions and weather in version 2.0.1
AYNI requests map tiles and styles from OpenFreeMap. Tile requests reveal the map area being viewed and normal connection information, including your IP address. Apple MapKit provides place search, geocoding and directions; relevant search text, route endpoints and location context are processed by Apple under Apple Maps privacy terms.
Weather forecasts come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). Requests send latitude and longitude truncated to four decimal places, your IP address and an app-identifying User-Agent containing AYNI's public support contact. Four-decimal coordinates are still precise location. MET Norway retains IP addresses and request coordinates in access logs in Norway; retention and data rights are governed by its privacy policy. OpenFreeMap may retain technical logs and temporarily log IP addresses for security as described in its policy. These providers do not receive your camera feed or incident videos from AYNI. AYNI does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Motion and emergency features
With permission, motion information supports on-device driving-state and incident analysis. Emergency contact details and incident candidates are stored locally. Any call or share action you choose uses the relevant iOS service. AYNI does not promise automatic rescue. You can turn off optional emergency features in the app.
Incident videos and reports
Incident videos and their accompanying reports are stored locally on your device — in AYNI's in-app gallery and, if you allow Photos access, in your photo library. They remain on your device unless you export, save or share them yourself (for example through the iOS share sheet). Once you share a recording, its further use is under your control and the control of whoever you share it with.
Photo library
If you grant permission, AYNI uses photo library access only for saving and exporting your videos. AYNI does not scan or collect the rest of your photo library.
Purchases and subscriptions
AYNI Pro subscriptions are offered through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Payments are processed by Apple, not by AYNI, and Apple may process purchase-related information — such as receipts and transaction status — under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. AYNI may receive limited transaction information from Apple in order to unlock and manage Pro features. AYNI never sees your payment card details.
What AYNI does not do
- AYNI does not sell personal data.
- AYNI does not upload your videos to AYNI servers. If cloud features are ever added in the future, they will be disclosed, and this policy will be updated before they ship.
- AYNI does not require an account to use the app.
Data retention
Because recordings and reports are stored locally, retention is in your hands: you can delete clips in the app or in Photos at any time, and deleting the app removes its local data. AYNI cannot access, restore or recover recordings stored only on your device.
Recording other people and local laws
Dashcam recordings can capture other people, vehicles and license plates. You are responsible for using AYNI in line with the laws that apply where you drive, including any rules about recording in public places, audio recording and windshield mounting.
Your controls
You can review or change AYNI's access to the camera, microphone, location and Photos at any time in iOS Settings. The app will keep working with reduced functionality where possible.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if new features change how data is handled — this page and its effective date will be updated.

Website audience and App Store clicks
We count website page views and clicks to the App Store in daily totals by page and language. These counters use no cookies or visitor identifiers and do not save IP addresses, search terms, full referrers or chat messages. A temporary rotating IP hash limits abusive requests and is not stored in this reporting database.
We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for these counters. Totals are retained for up to 180 days. They measure outbound clicks, not confirmed app installations.
Cloudflare also provides website performance and traffic analytics separately.
Website assistant — ASK AYNI
ASK AYNI is an optional website assistant. Messages and recent conversation context are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI to answer questions using reviewed AyniCam documentation. This is separate from the iPhone app’s on-device camera processing. The chat cannot receive camera footage. Avoid sending private information.
Conversation history stays in this tab’s memory and is cleared by New conversation or a page reload. We do not store chat transcripts in our database or enable raw chat logging. Cloudflare processes requests under its applicable privacy and service terms; this does not imply zero provider-side processing or retention.
A secure anonymous session cookie expires after 30 minutes. Turnstile checks for abuse. We keep rotating hashed network identifiers and short-lived request counters for abuse prevention, and aggregate usage metrics for up to 180 days. Questions explicitly submitted through the voluntary review form are stored for up to 30 days.
If newsletter signup is available, your address goes directly to the subscription service, not the AI model. Explicit consent and email confirmation are required. Pending addresses expire after 7 days. Confirmed subscriptions remain until unsubscribe or a deletion request; unsubscribe removes the address and retains a hashed suppression record for up to one year. Contact support@aynicam.app about access or deletion.
Optional Google Analytics
With your permission, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits, traffic sources, page engagement and clicks to the App Store. Google receives device/browser information and processes your network address when receiving requests. We send the canonical page address without query strings, the referring website’s origin without its path or query, and the site language.
We do not send chat messages, form entries, search text, names or email addresses to Analytics. We do not enable Google advertising signals or ad personalization. The Google tag loads only after you allow analytics.
You may refuse or withdraw through Analytics preferences in the footer; withdrawing stops future Analytics measurement and clears the Analytics cookies set by this integration. Your choice is stored locally for 180 days; Analytics cookies are set for up to 180 days. Browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control keeps Analytics disabled.
The separate Cloudflare aggregate counters described above remain distinct from this optional Google service.
