Using Parking View with one iPhone camera

AYNIcam · 2026-09-08

Understand AYNIcam’s split Parking View, estimated proximity beeps and the limits of a single forward-facing camera.

What appears in Parking View

Parking combines a simplified nearby-object scene with the camera image and detection boxes. The panels stack in portrait and sit side by side in landscape. Both refer to the same camera feed. This is useful for comparing an estimated layout with its source image, but it is not a stitched surround-view camera system.

Set the phone before manoeuvring

With the vehicle stopped, choose a detector model, open Parking and check the mount and camera direction. Verify which area is actually visible. A phone aimed forward cannot see directly behind the car, and a bonnet or nearby obstacle may hide a low object. Do not reposition the mount or operate the screen during a manoeuvre.

Interpret the beeps carefully

Parking can produce proximity beeps from estimated object distances. Those estimates depend on what the camera and detector can observe. Beeps are an additional cue, not calibrated ultrasonic measurements. Silence does not establish that a space is free, and a detected object’s drawn position is not a clearance measurement.

Keep blind spots in mind

The current Parking view does not add rear cameras, a 360-degree feed or a dedicated parking-line detector. Low kerbs, objects outside the supported classes and partially hidden obstacles can be missed. Use direct checks, mirrors and the vehicle’s actual parking equipment. AYNIcam does not steer or brake the vehicle.

When another view is clearer

If the simplified panel is hard to interpret, Detection provides more room for the source image. The Pro segmentation model can show road and object masks on its own page, but it does not remove the camera’s blind spots. Select a comfortable view while parked and keep screen interaction out of the manoeuvre.
