Two different recording promises
Continuous loop recording usually stores successive video files and reuses available capacity by replacing older unprotected files. An incident buffer keeps a recent window available so a save action can preserve it. These terms describe a workflow, not a universal feature standard: always check the actual product. AyniCam’s manual incident workflow saves available buffered footage before the tap, not a guaranteed record of the whole journey.
Follow one AyniCam save
First, camera recording must be active and footage must accumulate. Pressing Save incident asks the recorder to preserve the available lead-in. The clip then appears in the local gallery, where it can be reviewed and shared. Starting the app immediately before saving does not create footage from before the camera began. A source-coded maximum is an upper bound, not a promise that every file has that duration.
Free and Pro
Free’s documented window is up to 20 seconds at 720p, video-only, while buffering is active in driving context. Pro extends the window to 30 seconds at 1080p, supports saving while stationary with the camera active, and offers microphone audio with permission. The optional Pro subscription renews monthly; consult its localized purchase screen for current price and terms.
What can shorten or prevent a clip?
A recent start, interrupted camera session or missing recent footage can shorten the available history. Insufficient storage can prevent saving. Version 2.0 includes recording-recovery improvements and clearer storage warnings, but recovery is not a guarantee of uninterrupted footage. Resolve warnings while stopped and verify that a clip actually exists instead of treating a button press as proof of a saved file.
When a different recorder fits better
If you need a continuous trip archive, rear-facing evidence or unattended parking surveillance, evaluate a dedicated system with those documented capabilities. Do not assume a phone incident app does the same job. Equally, do not assume every hardware camera protects old files forever: capacity, overwrite behavior and power supply still matter.
