What can a free iPhone dashcam app do?
AyniCam Free saves up to 20 seconds of available buffered video at 720p without audio. Pro increases the limits to 30 seconds and 1080p, with microphone audio when permission is granted. Both modes save short incidents; neither promises a continuous full-trip archive. AyniCam requires iOS 17 or later. This comparison uses AyniCam product records and the other developers’ US App Store descriptions checked on October 11, 2026. We have not conducted independent physical-device tests of these four apps. Four apps compared: recording, storage and paid options
These apps use the iPhone camera for recording. They are different from companion apps that only connect to a separate dashcam. A free download does not mean every feature is free. Check availability, in-app purchases and subscription terms in your own App Store and the purchase screen; features and prices can change.

AyniCam Free or Pro: what changes, and what does not?
Pro adds longer clips, higher resolution and optional audio, but does not turn AyniCam into a full-trip recorder. The available buffer may be shorter after launch or interruption. Free uses driving context; Pro can save with an active camera while stationary. Keep AyniCam in the foreground for camera recording: a locked phone or another app on screen is not a supported recording workflow. Camera AI and incident clips stay on the device, while maps, routes and weather use online services. On-device AI does not imply offline maps or cloud backup.

Choose the recording workflow that fits your trip
For a brief record of a particular moment with camera AI, evaluate AyniCam’s incident workflow. For a journey archive or a navigation-focused setup, inspect the corresponding alternatives in the table. If you need a permanently fitted front-and-rear system or unattended recording, compare dedicated hardware with its specific power and storage requirements. A phone app should not be selected on an unsupported parking or background promise.
How to make your own fair check

Review an actual result before relying on the app, and repeat only under safe conditions relevant to your needs.
