AyniCam and Driver address different recording priorities. AyniCam documents short locally stored incident clips with on-device camera AI. Driver advertises full-drive cloud backup and simultaneous road/cabin video, with iOS 18 or later required. Those Driver details come from its current App Store description, not our own road test. This article is published by AyniCam and should be read with that affiliation in mind.
Where AyniCam fits
AyniCam 2.0 requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone. Free retains up to 20 seconds at 720p without audio in a driving context. Pro retains up to 30 seconds at 1080p and can include microphone audio with permission while the camera is active, including when stationary. The saved duration depends on how much buffer exists. A session that just started or was interrupted cannot provide missing history.
A choice based on your priorities
Consider the practical consequences before focusing on the names of the apps.

Local camera AI does not make every feature offline
AyniCam keeps camera AI processing and saved clips on the phone; you choose whether to export them. Its maps, destination search, routes and weather involve online services. The website assistant is another separate service and processes chat in the cloud. Keep these distinctions in mind when comparing privacy descriptions: assess each data flow rather than declaring one app “fully private” or another “unsafe”.

Start with an acceptance checklist: phone and iOS compatibility, required clip duration, audio, storage, export and interruptions. Check local subscription terms before paying. Compare a saved file from your actual setup with the result you need. Neither a list of features nor a simulator picture measures night quality, heat, battery drain or detection accuracy. We have not run a matched physical-device comparison, so there is no score claiming that one app records more reliably.
